Child of Clay

Child of Clay

I sit and listen as the stars now weave a rainbow,

To rain upon our souls with stardust,

And our dreams will birth moments in the ether,

I wait with longing for us to meet.

I will wait to find you again in my dreams,

And to listen to your whispers before I fall asleep,

On the wings of your thoughts,

With you held close to my chest.

I would gather all time into a parchment scroll

And hide it beneath the foundations of the earth,

If you could reach me in a single instant,

But time flows infinitely, like a river.

Just like my love, if only I could gather,

With my bare palms, all the stars from the sky,

I would scatter them along your path,

To light up your footsteps.

But I have lost the magic, so instead,

I will hold your hand and show you the way,

Step by step, my heart opens wide,

Whenever I see you descending.

On moonbeams toward my very soul,

I take a deep breath and I can already feel,

Your fragrance lingering around me,

I will go at dawn, right at sunrise.

At sunrise, to take a handful of clay,

To mix it with the dew upon the flowers,

And I will wait for you at moonrise,

You are my bride, even if you might not know it.

Oh, how I’ve missed listening to

The echo of your thoughts, I will descend

To the center of the earth to gather embers,

For my horse, and I will ride.

At sunset, to steal you away under the moonlight,

I will keep the ashes from its fire,

For my heart of stone, so I can fight,

With the demons inside you until the dawn.

I will whisper a magical mantra,

While playing with my fingers through your hair,

And I will kiss your sweet eyes,

To wipe away the memories of your tears.

I will teach you the secret never revealed to you,

And I will place a crown of flowers on your head,

Woven from all the blossoms of the field,

I will carve a ring with my own hands.

From the most precious stone,

And I will break the spell of all your sins,

With a covenant for eternity,

I will come down with my lips to seal it.

Sipping from the dew of the well of memories,

And I will bite your breasts to unleash

The spring that will feed our children,

I will unveil you from your clothes.

I will cover you with my kisses,

And I will chain you eternally to my body,

With rose petals bound by moonbeams,

And your greatest sin could be.

To extinguish the fire in my soul,

That is why I do not sleep alone, barefoot,

By the light of the fireplace and wax candles,

When I know my muse is lying on the bed.

On a bed with white garments,

And my thoughts troubled by sparks,

Leaping from the embers like stars,

Fallen over a paradise lost.

And I always startle when I hear an echo,

Of your whispers, and my heart ignites

With hope, on the wings of the wind,

I will gently whisper the echo of my thoughts.

To lure you in like a sorcerer,

Into my arms, to love you like crazy,

Like you have never loved before,

To kiss you, to touch you with longing.

These are sweet whispers in the middle of the night,

Bow your head and listen,

And let me hold you tight in my arms,

Close your eyes so softly.

Open your thighs and bite my lips,

I touch you and I kiss you,

And I crush you in my embrace,

With the rustle of the wind in your hair.

And stardust upon your body,

I gather your sweat with my lips,

And you feel the scent of flowers at every moment,

I stop time completely when I feel you.

With arms raised to the sky, I have molded,

With my own hands, a child of clay,

With your tears and the dew upon the flowers,

And you fell sweetly asleep under the moonlight.

I kiss you sweetly, Goodnight.
